Do You Have More Self-Bought Or Review Books On Your Physical TBR?

My physical TBR shelf has grown into 2 shelves. I know, I know. I need to get reading! *laughs* But there’s less time during the summer for me to read. And since I’m on a few different publisher mailing lists, my TBR keeps growing. (Well, that and the fact I keep requesting books from the library instead of reading what I already have… oops!) I used to have way more books that I bought or was given by family, on my TBR than anything else. But now that I’m up to two shelves, I’m not so sure what I have… Read more »

The Skeleth (The Nethergrim Trilogy #2) by Matthew Jobin (review)

The Skeleth (The Nethergrim Trilogy #2) by Matthew Jobin (review)

I liked the first book a little more than this one. But I still really enjoyed this book as well. One of the things I loved about the last one was the strong friendship between Edmund, Katherine and Tom. And how they worked together to save the children stolen by the Nethergrim. In this book they’re separated for a great deal of the story. Tom is away with Katherine’s father, and then ends up on a quest of his own. Edmund and Katherine are in the same village still, but they’re kept apart by various things. This book had a… Read more »

A Ghost Called Dog by Gavin Neale (review)

A Ghost Called Dog by Gavin Neale (review)

This was such a fun book! The characters were all interesting, the children were believable, and I liked figuring out the mysterious bits. You don’t get a lot of magic right away (other than the ghosts), but you do get a little bit of history as to why magic is mostly gone from the world. I liked the ghost animals, though I didn’t like how cats are portrayed. The ghost T-Rex was a fun surprise. The book is apparently set in the UK somewhere, as there were a few phrases that were different than what we would say in America…. Read more »

The Most Random Place You’ve Left A Book?

So we all have that one friend (or possibly ARE that one friend?!) who is always misplacing things. One of my best friends used to be my roommate a number of years ago. I once walked into our apartment to find a half gallon of milk sitting on the tray by the front door where she usually kept her keys. It was still cold so I grabbed it and headed to the fridge. Only to discover her keys were on the shelf where the milk usually sat! She didn’t even realize she had swapped them. *laughs* I usually only have… Read more »

June 2016 Wrap-Up

June 2016 Wrap-Up

So not much happened this month. Or at least, nothing memorable enough to come to mind when writing this post up! My dentist appointment went fine. Got knocked out while the surgeon pulled out 3 wisdom teeth. She woke me up half-way through the pulling of the 2nd one though. And I vaguely remember the third one coming out. Apparently, I managed to scream my way through the extractions. While completely asleep! *lol* She was very annoyed looking and kept telling me I’d been screaming, once I was awake enough to understand. I was like, “Sorry?” But how… Read more »
