August Wrap-Up

August 31, 2015 Wrap-Ups 6

August was fairly busy for me. Lots of books arrived to be reviewed, as well as library books that came up all at once to be read. I still haven’t managed to schedule discussion posts, or my Fantasy Creature Fridays ahead. But I haven’t lost my months worth of scheduled reviews. So I shall have to be happy with that.

I still hope to have my new header and blog button done by my 1-year blogaversery in a little over 2 weeks. But my designer is a bit backed-up, so it may be later. But I have seen more updates on them, and they’re so adorable and perfect!

I made 3 scarves, and some secret projects this month. Used up 4 skeins of my stockpiled yarn, and then went out and bought 5 more skeins. *laughs* I’m not even sure what I’ll be making with them, they were just pretty so came home with me. *has a yarn hoarding problem and knows it!*

I’ve been added to 2 new publisher mailing lists since last month. So expect to see more ARCs reviewed. Including Penguin’s line of Cozy Mysteries.

Books Received/Purchased:

Insidious by Dawn Metcalf (received, non-ARC)
Code Black by Tina Moss (eARC)
Hook’s Revenge: The Pirate Code by Heidi Schulz (eARC, review to come)
Dangerously Dark by Colette London (eARC, review to come)
Sins of the Warrior by Linda Poitevin (eARC, review to come)
Thief’s Magic by Trudy Canavan (eARC, review to come)
Seraphina by Rachel Hartman (audiobook, library, review to come)
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (ebook, library, review to come)
Through the Grinder by Cleo Coyle (ebook, library, review to come)
Cipher by Aileen Erin (ebook, library, review to come)
My Soul To Save by Rachel Vincent (ebook, library, review to come)

Lots from the library this month! All the ‘reviews to come’ are already read and scheduled. Insidious looks so good! But I have to read books #1 & #2 before I can pick that one up. And Sins of the Warrior ended up being book #4. Which I didn’t realize until I’d finished it. Oops…

I know! And this month I should see the signed copy of the new Sarah J. Maas book! It’s been raining a lot though, so I hope it stays dry. Thanks for stopping by!

I have 3 library books, and 2 ARCs I have to read before I can start the first book in that trilogy. It always seems like all the books arrive at once! But that series looks so good, so it’s definitely going to be the next book I read once these 5 are finished and reviewed.

I haven’t read any of your books, but I have School for Good and Evil and CANNOT WAIT TO READ IT! It sounds so good. I need to retry Exquisite Captive because for some reason it didn’t quite do it for me like it has for so many others. But I will definitely try again. I think it was a case of “right book, wrong time” or something. At least, I hope!

You definitely need to read the School For Good and Evil! With Exquisite Captive, you might like it better once Raif is introduced. The plot picks up quickly from that point. Thanks for stopping by!
