KA-POW! BOFF! ZAP! This action-packed gift book is the perfect introduction and guide to the beloved 1960s Batman Classic TV series. The Dynamic Duo, the colourful villains, the gadgets--it’s all here! Filled with fascinating facts, statistics and quotes, this fun-filled book is loaded with great photos. The ideal gift for all Batman fans!

This is one of my favorite Batman and Robin shows ever. So when I saw this book was coming out I had to preorder it.

The colors and way they did the text blurbs, remind me strongly of the show. They have that voice over feel to them. Some of the pictures were blurry however, which I didn’t expect. And while there are facts and statistics, there are far less of them than I had expected.

Half the book describes the show’s villains, 2-4 pages for the most recognized ones like Catwoman, Mr. Freeze and the Joker. And then a single page (or less!) for the less-known like The Puzzler and Black Widow. It also gives you a bit of information about the various vehicles. From the Batmobile and Batcycle to the Jokermobile.

The first half of the book gives you some information about Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Commissioner Gordon, and a few of the other good guys. But a lot of the info won’t be new to you if you’ve seen the series. I was expecting more trivia, and while there were a number of interesting things, I probably wouldn’t have pre-ordered it if I had known this was what was inside.

I still love the book! And if you are, or know, a fan of the show I recommend getting a copy. Just don’t expect it to go very in-depth. It seems to mostly be a summary of the who’s who, to give you a crash course for people who have never seen the show.
