Batman: Facts and Stats from the Classic TV Show by Robert Garcia (review)

Batman: Facts and Stats from the Classic TV Show by Robert Garcia (review)

This is one of my favorite Batman and Robin shows ever. So when I saw this book was coming out I had to preorder it. The colors and way they did the text blurbs, remind me strongly of the show. They have that voice over feel to them. Some of the pictures were blurry however, which I didn’t expect. And while there are facts and statistics, there are far less of them than I had expected. Buffy the Vampire Slayer by Richie Tankersley Cusick (review)

“Does Elvis talk to you? Tell you to do things? Do you see spots?”   It’s rare that I like a movie version better than the book. However since this book is based on the movie, instead of having a movie based on a book, I’m okay with not liking the book as much. Every page has at least one, usually more, full-color illustrations of Smaug. From early design concepts, all the way to fully realized shots that made it into the movie…. Read more »

As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes (review)

As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes (review)

Okay, so technically this isn’t a fantasy or sci-fi book. But it’s all about The Princess Bride, which is a fantasy movie, so it counts. Right? As I read this book, the narrator in my head had Cary Elwes’ voice. As it should be of course, since I have loved The Princess Bride since I first saw it in 1987 at the age of 9. I can quote almost every line in the movie, and getting to read about what was going on in the minds and behind the scenes of the cast was absolutely fantastic. Don’t forget to… Read more »
