Den of Wolves (Blackthorn & Grim #3) by Juliet Marillier (review)

Den of Wolves (Blackthorn & Grim #3) by Juliet Marillier (review)

The big twist I saw coming very early on. That didn’t detract at all from the story though. Especially as I wasn’t sure of the why or the how. We also finally get confirmation about why Conmael has been helping Blackthorn. I loved the song/rhyme that’s given in bits and pieces and then finally in full in the book. I usually skip over that sort of thing, but it really resonated and stuck in my head. I also liked the story of the Heartwood House, and how we got to see different versions of it, both good and bad. I… Read more »

Currently Without Internet

I’ve been without internet since late on October 22nd. Haven’t been able to get ahold of my internet provider, & no idea if or when it will start working again. I don’t want to go back to using Comcast, but they’re the only other choice in my city. The only good thing about this is I had 2 months worth of reviews scheduled. I’m writing this post on my phone, & will respond to comments left this past week once I have internet access again. Hopefully the internet will be back soon! Ramblings of Art and Life

Ramblings of Art and Life

Not really a book or discussion post per se. But I thought I’d mention what I’ve been up to since I haven’t gotten as much reading done as I would have liked the last week or so. As I’m sure you noticed given last week I only got one book review posted. I’m finally getting the hang of my new job, I have to pester my managers less than I used to. And so I thought I’d get more book time. But RL reared it’s ugly head and I’ve been running all over town like a madwoman for the last… Read more »

Changing Up My Posting Schedule

Just a quick heads up. I’ve been posting book reviews on tuesday, thursday, and sunday. And discussion posts on friday and saturday. But I was just hired full-time at a RL job, started the 19th. And I’m not sure how much reading time I’ll be able to get in for the next few weeks as I try to memorize a 2in thick binder of job duties. So I am cutting the tuesday book review until I get a better hold on my job. If I manage to get more non-work reading done than I thought, I’ll bring it back sooner…. Read more »

New Blog Design!

Just a quick note, yes I have re-designed the blog. I got tired of having a narrow blog and wanted something more versatile. I’m still working out a few kinks, (like why is my menu blurry??), and I may re-arrange a few small things over the next week or so as I figure out what I’ve done wrong. If you notice anything that doesn’t work, is hard to read, confusing in whatever way, or that you just don’t like, please let me know! It might already be on my ‘things to fix’ list (I’ve sent in a support ticket to… Read more »

40 Free Holiday Songs At Amazon

40 Free Holiday Songs At Amazon

This year instead of the 25 days of free music downloads that Amazon has done in the past, they are offering free music to stream for Prime members. Their All Is Bright album has 40 of the most popular holiday songs and is completely free to add to your streaming library and listen to. I found a few songs to download for free while hunting through the popular music sections as well. But it looks like they’ve mostly gone to ‘free to listen’ instead of ‘free to own.’ On another note, my internet is back! Finally. It came back late… Read more »

Currently Without Internet

Just a quick FYI, my internet has been down since noon this past Wednesday. Still can’t get my internet provider to answer the phone or e-mail. I’m typing this on my phone, but can’t easily do much with my blog. As soon as the internet is fixed, I’ll answer & approve comments. What has been posting are my pre-written & scheduled posts. Just didn’t want anyone to think they were being ignored! Here’s hoping I’ll have it all fixed soon! Convergence (The Aliomenti Saga – Book 7) by Alex Albrinck. Hostility has formed over the centuries. It’s grown with each Hunt, each capture, each death. It’s been magnified at each effort to thwart global dominion over those unable to defend against the advance of a ruthless tyrant who won’t rest until the entire world is full of those who exist solely to do his will. Circumstances have prevented outright warfare. Until now. Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.
