September 2016 Wrap-Up

September 2016 Wrap-Up

Not lot’s going on this month. I got more crochet done, 2 new scarves! And picked up a new pattern I want to try making a blanket with. Bought 7 skeins of christmas variegated yarn to use with it. It’s red, white and green. So if I get time to make much, I’ll show off a work in progress in next month’s wrap up. I plan on taking a week off work next month and doing a bit of a stay-cation. Where I sit around and read and crochet and not worry about work. *lol* I also plan… Read more »

My 2 Year Blogiversary!

My 2 Year Blogiversary!

Once again, the year has flown by! Has it really been 2 years since I started this blog? *boggles a bit* It’s flown by so quickly in fact, that I almost forgot it was my blogiversary! (Does it still count as “almost”, when I’m writing up this post at 9:15pm on 9/15? Shhhh…..) A lot of new friends have been made in the last 2 years, and a few friends have sadly closed up their blogs as well. Thanks so much for putting up with my babbling and rambling and general sil-ly ness! *grins* Besides being my blogiversary,… Read more »

August 2016 Wrap-Up

August 2016 Wrap-Up

Summer is finally over, which means that as of this week work is finally slowing down enough I can start reading there again. So hopefully I’ll be able to catch up on my reading and get ahead with scheduled posts. This month I managed to do something painful and annoying as well as something hopefully good! 2-ish weeks ago I was coming in from the rain, and went to try to shuffle my feet on the rug just outside the door to keep from tracking water into the house. The way the house is set up, you go… Read more »

July 2016 Wrap-Up

July 2016 Wrap-Up

So this month marked the last of my scheduled posts. Somewhere around the end of April or beginning of May, I had 6 weeks of scheduled reviews and a few discussions. And as of the beginning of July I had 0 scheduled posts of any kind! Work is really cutting into my reading time. Not to mention my babbling on other blogs, and crafting time. I haven’t even touched my crochet hook since I finished the throw for my niece the other month. I currently have 2 posts scheduled, but they aren’t all that soon. I also have… Read more »

June 2016 Wrap-Up

June 2016 Wrap-Up

So not much happened this month. Or at least, nothing memorable enough to come to mind when writing this post up! My dentist appointment went fine. Got knocked out while the surgeon pulled out 3 wisdom teeth. She woke me up half-way through the pulling of the 2nd one though. And I vaguely remember the third one coming out. Apparently, I managed to scream my way through the extractions. While completely asleep! *lol* She was very annoyed looking and kept telling me I’d been screaming, once I was awake enough to understand. I was like, “Sorry?” But how… Read more »

May 2016 Wrap-Up

May 2016 Wrap-Up

This was a much better month. Though compared to last month, it would be hard to be worse! *laughs* I finished up the throw blanket for my niece and shipped it off. My sis said she loved it so much, she wore it around the house on her shoulders the rest of the day after she opened it. The pic I took of the full thing doesn’t really do it justice, my sis had a much better one but I forgot to ask permission to post my niece’s face. (oops!) So instead I painted out my niece’s face,… Read more »

April 2016 Wrap-Up

April 2016 Wrap-Up

This was totally a Murphy’s Law month for my family. Dad went on a white water rafting trip down the Grand Canyon for 10 days. When he got back, he found out he’d managed to fracture his ankle. He did this on day 3 or 4, and then went on 2 major hikes and continued the rafting trip! After seeing a specialist, he was told he didn’t need a cast or splint or anything, and the best thing he could do was use it as usual and exercise on it because it would heal faster that way. Made… Read more »

March 2016 Wrap-Up

March 2016 Wrap-Up

This month lots of things got in the way of me reading. Mostly it was being short-staffed at work. With less people there, it made for less down-time. As well as me picking up an extra shift here and there. Which also meant that when I got home from work, I couldn’t quite settle on any one thing I wanted to do. I’d read a while, then decide I wanted to crochet instead. So I’d do that for an hour or so, then I needed to do things on my computer, and it was an endless round of “stop… Read more »

February 2016 Wrap-Up

February 2016 Wrap-Up

This month nothing exciting happened. At least not that I can remember! It never fails though, I think to myself that “yay! I’m caught up on books, I only have 2 I have to review.” And then my library goes crazy. I’ve had 9 books checked out to me in the last 2 weeks. All of which I’ve been waiting on for a few weeks or a few months so I didn’t want to skip them for later. And then the review copies came in, so I felt a bit overwhelmed for a few weeks, but I’m finally… Read more »

January 2016 Wrap-Up

January 2016 Wrap-Up

So this month I went back to California for my niece’s 11th birthday. It was a lot of fun! I also got to meet Pabkins in person, which was also a lot of fun! Being back in Cali made me miss it a bit, but I don’t miss the prices or cost of living. I also don’t miss the drivers. If you’ve never driven in Cali before, here’s a crash course: Green lights mean Stop. So do red lights. Yellow lights mean floor it! And if you happen to realize you’re in the wrong lane, it’s perfectly acceptable to… Read more »
