May Wrap-Up

This was a much better month. Though compared to last month, it would be hard to be worse! *laughs*

I finished up the throw blanket for my niece and shipped it off. My sis said she loved it so much, she wore it around the house on her shoulders the rest of the day after she opened it. The pic I took of the full thing doesn’t really do it justice, my sis had a much better one but I forgot to ask permission to post my niece’s face. (oops!) So instead I painted out my niece’s face, so you can see the edging. As the only other good pic of it I have is a close-up showing the colors and stitches. It ended up being about 50in long by 44in wide. 5+lbs as I used 5 double skeins plus part of a 6th of the “lavender blue” to edge it.

Dad and I also saw Mamma Mia! the play version, in the local historic theatre near us. It was so good! The girl who played Sophie was amazing. I mean like, she was as good as the actress in the movie version! I also liked the girl who played Tonya, she wasn’t as good as the Sophie, but she was pretty close. The rest of the cast was good, but those two were just total wow!

Tomorrow, (though really today since I’m writing this on the 30th) I’m going into the dentist to get my last 3 wisdom teeth removed. Not looking forward to it at all. Dentists scare the crap out of me, and I’ve had nothing but bad experiences there. So I’m getting them to knock me out, and that way I don’t have to deal with being awake during the procedure, and they don’t have to deal with me. *laughs*

Oh it went great! *snickers* I apparently screamed my way through 3 extractions. In. My. Sleep! The oral surgeon was NOT amused. She seemed pretty ticked actually, when she woke me. I was like, oops? I was asleep!

No real pain afterwords surprisingly enough, and I’m back on solid foods now with everything half-way or more healed up.

You totally need to read Unhooked! I’m a biased Peter Pan fan, but this book didn’t irk me quite as much as a lot of the retellings about him. I liked the book well enough. *nods* Only thing that would have made it better is a spoiler, so I won’t mention it! *lol*

My May wasn’t nearly as productive as yours! Very jealous of all the reviews you posted ๐Ÿ™‚

That blanket is beautiful! I can see why you niece loves it so much.

Hope you are having a good June so far! Thanks for sharing.

*laughs* All those reviews were posted in advance! I try to have a month’s worth done ahead of time (except the cozy mysteries, those get done the week of!) but I’m currently down to 2 weeks ahead. Too busy lately!

Summer is the high season at my work, so I don’t get as much reading done as usual. Already waiting for fall when it slows down again. *laughs*

Thank you! It was a lot of fun to make, and I was a little nervous my niece wouldn’t end up liking it as much as she did. So that was a relief she loved it. Hope your June is going well too!

*laughs* Exactly! I found it really funny once the knock-out stuff wore off and I was able to think about it properly. Especially the look of annoyance on the oral surgeon’s face. I was like, how am I supposed to stop myself from screaming if I’m not awake?! At least I apologized! *lol*
