It’s a short story, so I suppose I can ignore the dreaded InstaLove. But there were a few other things that irked me. Most of the story was written with normal every-day words, or at least ‘normal’ for most fantasy books. But in a few places it looked like the author chose to use a thesaurus in random places just because. I know what “hirsute” means, because I’ve had to look it up before. But for the average reader?
