I really liked this book. It had all the earmarks of a good action fantasy. There was mystery and danger, fast-paced action as well as some sweet moments. The monsters were actually monsters, not just misunderstood. And while the good guys could be decent as humans, once they changed they were dangerous. The description of “The Devil” type of monster was both funny and scary. And I liked how Alex’s Dad was both protective of his daughter, and willing to get in the thick of things. Rosamond’s Heart (The Black Mountain Saga #1) by Cate Dean (review)

I really loved this book. I started reading it, and didn’t want to put it down until it was finished. Rose and Dan were interesting characters, and fairly well fleshed out considering how short the book is. I also really liked Jaren. It bugged me a little bit that Jaren’s mother was never named, anytime she was spoken of, or thought about, everyone called her “milady”.
