What Character In Your Fandoms Would You Most Like To Meet?

September 5, 2015 Discussions 8

I had a dream the other night, where a few of my favorite characters just appeared. I can’t remember now what happened in the dream, just that they were there. And it made me think how awesome it would be if we could actually meet some of our favorite characters.

Since there’s no way I can pick just one favorite book, there is also no way I can pick just one favorite character! But for simplicity sake, I will list off the top characters that come to mind, only one per book/series.

In no particular order, I would LOVE to meet:

Peter Pan, Fred Weasley from Harry Potter, Nuriko from Fushigi Yuugi, Simon from The Others, Saetan & Daemon from The Black Jewels (okay okay, that’s two, but honestly I can’t pick between them!), Menolly from Pern, and Caelena from Throne Of Glass.

And what would I do once I’ve met them? What wouldn’t I do? *laughs* I want to go on adventures with Peter Pan, fly around Neverland, meet a fairy and mermaids. Sail on a pirate ship.

Try out the newest prank products with Fred Weasley. Warn him of events so George might keep his ear, and Fred might live. Be shown all the secret places in Hogwarts, watch a Quidditch game. Visit the magical Menagerie and see spells cast.

(Spoiler for Nuriko if you haven’t seen the anime/read the manga) View Spoiler »

Wander through Simon’s compound. Meet the various Gards, meet Winter and her sisters. Feed and pet the ponies. Learn how their world works first-hand.

I want to meet the High Lord and the Father. Wander through the Keep. Hear the stories of how Jaenelle’s Circle settled from Daemon’s point of view. Meet the Kindred. Actually see what a Jewel looks like, and how it’s used.

Hear Menolly sing her songs. Meet her firelizards and listen to them hum the tunes with Menolly. Explore Pern and the craftholds. Meet a dragon and rider. See a Hatching.

(If you haven’t read book 3 of the Throne of Glass series, don’t click the spoiler!) View Spoiler » Hear about Rowan, Chaol and Nehmia. See the forests and meet the small folk. Hear her speak the ancient language.

I want all these things and more. And I will only ever get to do these things in my dreams. If I could, I would visit them all, but only stay with a few. I’d love to live in Neverland, or the Wizarding World, Khaeler, or the world Simon is from. The others would be nice to visit, but I wouldn’t wish to stay.

Who would you want to meet? What would you do or say? If you could stay in any of their worlds, permanently or being allowed to switch between, would you? Which ones would you choose?

    Soooo many!
Of course, I’d want to meet everyone from Lord of the Rings (I’d probably just follow the elves around with a stupid look on my face, but I can pretend I’d do something awesome!).
Harry Potter too – though I confess I’d mostly just like to shop in Diagon Alley, and meet some Weasleys (they’re my favorite).
It would be pretty fun to hang with the gang from Naruto . . .
And Tom & Benny Imura from Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry

    Fun discussion topic!

I’d love to meet Legolas as well as Elladan and Elrohir. Though other than exploring Imladris and Lothlorien, I’m not sure what I’d actually do in Middle Earth…

I mean, Peeta, of course! But how do I get Katniss out of the picture? Because look, I don’t want to be stuck in freaking Panem watching him be in love with Katniss, you know? I can deal with Panem, but only if I get to keep Peeta 😉 This is such a fun post!

Dare I mention I haven’t actually read that series yet? *laughs* It’s on my list, but I just haven’t gotten to it yet. Maybe if you swing by the Wizarding World first, and pick up a memory potion. Make Peeta forget about Katniss and whisk him away?

I was always that kid who liked to sit with the adults and talk to them instead of the kids my age or younger. And now that I’m an adult, I still like talking to adults. But I also like talking to teens-early 20-somethings! So I figure if I can connect with a book character while reading about them, then we should be able to be friends if they were real.
